Jack
was selected to the hall of fame for his athletic ability in baseball,
football, basketball and cross country.
In
1951, Jack led the Rutgers University freshman baseball team with
a .500 batting average and was named the team Most Valuable Player.
That same year he scored a team high of 8 touchdowns as a fullback
for the 150 lbs. football team.
From
1955 to 1970 Jack played semi-professional baseball for several teams
including the Beacon Braves. At the age of 66 he is still playing
in various softball leagues.
Jack
was inducted into the Dutchess County Old-timers Baseball Hall of
Fame (1983), the Dutchess County Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame
(1985) and the Dutchess County Sports Museum Hall of Fame (1985).
Jack
has been a prominent member of the community. Jack still remains very
active in politics, athletics and in other many aspects in Beacon
and Dutchess County.
