With the completion of a new Beacon High School, one which will embrace technology and challenge the way we teach our children, this promises to be not just a building with new walls, but a new environment for teaching and learning made possible through integrated technology applications throughout the facility. As we move forward connecting all our district buildings into an integrated network system, our data, voice and video will move at speeds unheard of just a few years ago. Our district technology goals are forever changing to meet the needs of our students, staff and community. It is our challenge to keep Beacon Schools out in front as a pioneer. To support the vision and goals of the District's educational philosophy, integrating technology into teaching, learning, and management is accomplished through strategic planning and staff training. Beacon Inservice is second to none in the quality and quantity of our offerings. This past year using our on-line registration system, we have offered over 175 course sessions to teachers, administrators and clerical staff. Our weekly cable television program broadcasts events and happenings to all the citizens of the Beacon City School District. Shortly, with the opening of our new TV Broadcast facility at the high school, our message will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Beacon City School District will continue to invest in technology and its integration with teaching and learning. This effort will prepare our students for competitive careers, engage further learning after high school, and give our children the opportunity to become citizens that will be able to contribute to society.
